The Japanese and American pop culture festival Tokyo Comic Convention (Tokyo Comic Con 2018) was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba from 30 November to 2 December 2018.
Tokyo Comic Con was brought to life by the late Stan Lee and Steve Wozniak. Stan Lee is the creator of Spider Man, X-Men and other work, leading to him being known as the ‘father of pop culture’. Steve Wozniak is one of the co-founders of Apple Inc. and the king of technology. Together they first established the Silicon Valley Comic Con in the U.S, which opened its doors in 2016, followed by its sister event Tokyo Comic Con in the same year.
There were many cosplayers portraying characters from American comics or Hollywood movies. The cosplayers came dressed up as heroes like Spider-Man, Batman, Supergirl, and Gwen, but also cosplayed villains such as Overgirl and Harley Quinn.
Here are some cosplay photos, which the two photographers Hanmo (@nigellizhe) and @Osefly, took during the second day.
