CHiCO with HoneyWorks will hold a solo live concert at the Nippon Budokan next spring on 16 March 2018. This has been announced at Hibiya Outdoor Theater in Tokyo, her final stop of her Japan summer tour.
The tour ‘I LiVE you’, which was CHiCO’s second live-music club tour in the summer, started from 30 July at BEAT STATION in Fukuoka. It was held in nine different places all over Japan and ended at the Hibiya Outdoor Theater.
This last stop of the live concert, subtitled ‘Natsu no Scenario (Scenario in the Summer)’, became an amazing conclusion to her tour.
When the supporting band of HoneyWorks, known as the Chico-Hani Band, came up on stage, the audience gave a warm round of applause. Then, when the introduction of ‘Wolf’ started playing and ChiCO arrived on stage, the fans roared with joy. The powerful song was followed by ‘identity’, which is also an energetic number, and the audience cheered holding their hands up high.
CHiCO shouted out, ‘I would like to make today’s concert a special one, so I hope you all have fun!’ Then she sang two up-tempo songs, ‘Raspberry Monster’ and ‘Heart no Shuchou’, and the concert hall was beautifully lighted up with the fans’ red and pink glow sticks.
While CHiCO got off the stage for a short period, the members of the CHiCO-Hani Band, AtsuyuK! (Drums), Hiroki169 (Bass Guitar), Nakanishi (Guitar), Zimuin G (Keyboard), and Oji (Guitar and Bandmaster) each played a solo part in an amazing jam session. The audience’s energy level got higher and higher, and the concert moved on to the collaboration segment.
When CHiCO appeared on the stage again, everyone screamed with happiness. They were all excited to see CHiCO wearing a yukata with a red dahlia ornament on her hair, which looked exactly like the illustration on the CD cover of her new single ‘Twins’.
She announced to her fans, ‘Next is a special segment! Let me invite our guest, halca!’ The woman who appeared on stage was halca, the fresh female singer who won second prize at the 1st Utakatsu! audition. She was also wearing a colorful yukata with a beautiful turquoise-blue belt. Halca had performed eight of the opening acts during the tour, and on this final day, halca and CHiCO sang ‘Kawaikunaritai.’ together as their first collaboration. This song is a cover song of HoneyWorks.
After shouting out, ‘There is another special guest!’, CHiCO also invited sana, the popular female singer, up on stage. She looked beautiful in her emerald-green yukata. CHiCO and sana are known as ‘ChicoSana’ among their fans, and every time they sing a song together at their concerts, the fans get extremely excited. During this concert, the two sang ‘Daikirai na Hazu Datta.’, which is another cover song of HoneyWorks. The next song was ‘Rodeo’, the up-tempo rock music with ChicoSana’s beautiful duet. The concert hall was like a festival, and their performance blew away the summer heat!
While CHiCO and sana held a warm talking segment, they walked toward the sub-stage, which was in the middle of the audience area. Being completely surrounded by their fans, the two sang ‘Kore Seishun Understand’ with its cute dance movements, and ‘Tokyo Summer Session’, the song about a date at a summer festival.
For the fans, it was like a dream come true to see ChicoSana singing in yukata on a summer day.
(Next Page: The wonderful performance by CHiCO and HoneyWorks does not end there.)
