At the permanent One Piece attraction theme park, Tokyo One Piece Tower, the extremely popular One Piece Live Attraction has begun its third part, One Piece Live Attraction 3 ‘Phantom,’ as well as the special exhibition Log Gallery.
The queue was long for long before the opening of the event. Customers, regardless of age and nationality, were waiting for quite some time.
The highlight of the project is the great collaboration between the author of the original manga, Eichirou Oda, and GReeeeN.
At One Piece Live Attraction 3 ‘Phantom,’ the attendees held the ‘lighting stones’ that were passed out to them and while they were waiting for the show to begin, the mysterious DJ Aum of the club hosting event Live Music Club TONGARI, appeared. DJ Aum is a special character created by Mr. Oda especially for this event and his voice was provided by MC RYU. When DJ Aum said the greeting ‘Tongari!!,’ the greeting of Tongari Island (Tokyo One Piece Tower), GReeeeN’s original opening song 4ever Bang!!!!! played and the audience started cheering!
When the long-awaited ‘Diva Anne’ (Utahime Anne) took to the stage, voices from the audience could be heard saying, ’So cute~!!’ Diva Anne is also an original character created by Mr. Oda. With that singing voice, the person with the ability of the Bijobijo Fruit can appear as a phantom of anything they touch. The singing voice was that of the popular voice actress Saori Hayami.
Then, Puggy, who, in contrast to his appearance, is strong enough to match up to Zoro or Sanji, appeared as the minion of Buggy, a character that was in the original work since the beginning. Puggy is an original character created for this event. The audience had their eyes glued to the fast developing stage.
When the original ending song that GReeeeN created, ‘PHANTOM ~Yakusoku~,’ played, the lyrics were displayed on the screen and the audience sang along in unison. One could see members of the audience who were so touched that they were moved to tears. After the 20-minute show ended, everyone left the venue having enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
The audience members were asked their opinion of the event:
‘Compared to the first and second parts, there was a lot more presence in this one. It was different to performances they’ve had before. The silent figure of “him” facing away from us at the end was the best!’
‘There was a sea of straw hat pirates in front of my eyes and many other characters appeared so I was touched.’
Even overseas fans attended the event, ‘I had known about anime from before but I was surprised when I watched the show. It was overflowing with reality!’ ‘At first I was laughing while watching it, but by the
‘At first, I was laughing while watching it, but by the end, I was in tears. I definitely want a lot of people to watch it!’
Also, the 20 years of One Piece celebration event, ‘Log Gallery’ began from 29 April. Famous scenes chosen by the members of GReeeeN and comments about those scenes are displayed at ‘GReeeeN Island.’ In addition, the setting documents for the original characters created specifically for One Piece Live Attraction 3 ‘Phantom’ – Diva Ann, Puggy, and DJ Aum – and the lyrics card for GReeeeN’s original song will be on display. There will also be a display of figures of Luffy, Sabo, and Ace, and an illustration that appears to float if you take a picture with flash. Inside the venue of One Piece Live Attraction 3 ‘Phantom’, there is a special area where you can hear the full version of the opening song ‘4ever Bang!!!!!’
Tokyo One Piece Tower has a few new events as well, ‘Tongari Mini Attraction’ and ‘Straw Hat Pirates Photo Greeting!’ There are also various new items at Sanji’s Ore-sama Restaurant. The goods shop, Straw Store Tokyo One Piece Tower, has stocked new goods.
