In Part 1 I wrote about all the new info on Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome (The Night is Short, Walk on Girl), Genocidal Organ (Gyakusatsu Kikan), as well as TV anime Kuzu no Honkai (Scum’s Wish). But these were just the beginning. TV Anime Saenai Kanojo no Sodatekata: Flat (How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend: Flat), DIVE!!, Inuyashiki (Dog Mansion) and the film Kouetetsujou no Kabaneri (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) were also preset at the event.
Let’s check them all out!
The second season of Saenai Kanojo no Sodatekata has added the word ‘Flat’ to the title of the new cour and will start in April 2017. Mori, the producer of Fuji Television Network came up on stage and presented the story. On top of this, the newest promotional video and key visual drawn by the original illustrator Kurehito Misaki were revealed.
The novel DIVE!! is going to become a Noitamina animation. Originally written by Eto Mori, DIVE!! is about the sport of diving and the energetic adolescent days of young athletes.
The character designs will be done by Suzuhito Yasuda, who has in the past designed the characters and made illustrations for Durarara!! and Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darouka (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). The show will be directed by Kaoru Suzuki, and the story editor will be Touko Machida. The key visual and newest promotional video were revealed at the presentation. Suzuki, Machida, and protagonist Tomoki Sakai’s voice actor Yuki Kaji appeared on the stage. The guests spoke about what the story and characters will be like, and the show’s appealing points.
The Noitamina animation slot of Fall 2017 will be held by Inuyashiki next October. The story is written by Hiroya Oku who is known as the author of GANTZ. The two leading characters are Ichirou Inuyashiki, an ordinary middle-aged salary-man, and Hiro Shishigami, a high school boy. The theme of the story is ‘What if you were to gain mighty superpowers?’, and illustrates the clash between good and evil. Its production company will be MAPPA.
The general director will be Keiichi Sato, and the director will be Shuhei Yabuta. Sato came to the presentation, and he spoke with Fuji TV producer Matsuo about the fascinating points of the CG action scenes and the original story. They also mentioned the live-film adaptation which is planned to be shown in 2018. The cast for the movie will be revealed in due course.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress was broadcasted on Noitamina from April to June 2016. Part 1 of its compilation movie is to be released on December 31, 2016, and Part 2 will be released on January 7, 2017. They also announced that a new anime series will be made in the future. The new series is planned to start in 2018. In addition, director Tetsurou Araki, Tasuku Hatanaka (Ikoma) and Yuki Kaji (Takumi) spoke about their memories during the recording.
At the presentation, the audience was also given notice about the currently-showing movie Suki ni Naru sono Shunkan wo ~Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai~ (The Moment to Fall in Love ~Love Confession Executive Committee~).
