Winter 2020 Anime: Official Info, Airdates & Trailers
Keep warm this winter season with the latest anime info at MANGA.TOKYO!
This is Ayumi, your favorite otaku writer here on MANGA.TOKYO, and this is the last part of our J-WORLD TOKYO articles! Let’s cap it all off with the final two areas: the area of Haikyu!! (for which I still cry thanks to the 3rd season of the anime), and the One Piece area! At the end, I’ll introduce you to some items and goods exclusive to J-WORLD. Keep on reading!
The phrase ‘Let’s go to the national championships!’ is so powerful. This was the welcoming area of Haikyu!!
*These panels are longer available.
This is the front of Karasuno High School!! I recommend you start by taking a souvenir picture here.
And if you take a closer look at the vending machine…?
At the seemingly normal images on the labels of the drinks…
They are Haikyu!! drinks! Unfortunately, they are not for sale.
You’re going to giggle at them if you like Haikyu!! [laugh].
My favorite is ‘Yachichan’♡
It’s not running anymore, but a while ago there was a vote on ‘drinks you want to try from the vending machine’, and the drink that got the highest number of votes was actually sold at J-WORLD KITCHEN!
You can wear this apron and take a picture! You can feel like you’re working at Sakanoshita Shop…!
When you go further inside, there’s a free game, ‘Shoot! Fast break Weirdo!!’ When you raise your voice and ask Kageyama for a ball…
Some balls flash like this, so you have to touch them as fast as you can!
It looks easy, but it’s pretty difficult. When you fail, Kageyama even gets mad at you.
Since there are several different responses, I got him mad a couple of times.
The mini game corner is a replica of the Sakanoshita Shop. They say that they change items as needed, so if you’re interested, check out the official website!
The One Piece area surrounds the theme park, as expected of the extremely popular Shounen Jump title. The area itself is very large.
In the paid attraction ‘Soldier Dock Adventure’, you get on a vehicle and watch a movie projected on the wall, and go on an adventure with a light you’re given at the start. The screened movie is completely original and you can watch it only in J-WORLD! Enjoy a new adventure with the classic characters ♪
The second attraction is ‘Chopper Quest’.
If you like Chopper, you should definitely try this, because…
Look at this insanely cute backpack!!
You can wear this and go on an adventure!!!
※Not for sale
It was so cute that I wanted to bring it back home with me. Plus, it speaks and guides you.
It’s a ‘scavenger hunt’ attraction; you wear this Chopper bag and find the medicine ingredients to help Luffy who ate a balloon bird on the island. You beat various mini games scattered around the park with advice from Chopper.
The puzzles vary from easy to very tricky.
The third is ‘Shiro Mokuba Carousel.’ It’s a so-called merry-go-round, but when it starts spinning, there’s a bit…!?
The king of soul!
You can enjoy the concert while it’s spinning! What a beautiful voice!
There’s a cafe, ‘Cafe Mademoiselle’, which only serves food and drink from One Piece!
We got excited for Sanji’s food! This cafe’s details are excellent from the interior and the uniforms to the dishes. Apparently, Sanji created it all for ladies!
‘Meat on the Bone!’ (¥1010)
Sanji tenderly arranged Luffy’s favorite for the ladies! It had a fresh taste and the sauce contained some lovely balsamic vinegar. It was so good, even after Naruto’s ramen… Of course I ate it all. This is anime food heaven!
It’s fun just looking around inside.
‘Bon Voyage! Thousand Sunny Cake’
You need to book this cake by phone or at the restaurant at least 2 days before you eat there. It’s for 3 to 4 people.
As a fan, you must prepare yourself to ruin the cake with that first bite…
I ordered ‘Ace’s Blood Orange and Orange Juice, Hiken Drink’ (¥580) too. Even the drinks are of such high quality… as expected of Sanji…!! ‘Cafe Mademoiselle’, a place where you get absorbed in the One Piece world!
You should definitely come here when you visit J-WORLD.
You can choose the coaster you want when you order a drink ♡ You don’t need to fight for your choice. Enjoy the drink.
You can buy goods and souvenirs at J-WORLD STORE. Some of the items are exclusive to J-WORLD STORE! Let me show you some of my recommendations.
Freeza-sama turned into such a cute form… J-WORLD exclusive Tiny World: die-cut postcard (¥270) and acrylic key chain (¥864)
They have One Piece versions too! Cuteness to the extreme.
And what you’ve been probably waiting for…
Naruto Ichiraku Ramen donburi & renge, bowl and spoon set (¥3425)
Do you remember ‘Naruto’s Ichiraku Ramen Dattebayo!’ that you can eat at J-WORLD KITCHEN? That’s right, even the donburi and renge used for eating the ramen are available at J- WORLD!
If you eat ramen with them, will instant ramen taste like Ichiraku’s…!? It’s a nice item to have at home!
It’s not an exaggeration to say that you can spend all day here. This is amazing for fans… You’ll get confused about what’s reality, like, ‘I’m in the world of Shonen Jump now…’ I have a message for you from the staff who want people from overseas to come and enjoy the theme park?
‘We have the newest Shounen Jump works as well as One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Naruto. There are limited-time only events and attractions and food you can only enjoy here, so please come and visit!’
I assume there are a lot of people who have a soft spot for the phrase ‘limited-time only’. There will be more and more new events, so plan your travels while checking the official page!
There’s a little arcade and a mini game area where you can get exclusive prizes!
And there are even coin-operated lockers which is a great service for travelers! You can use these lockers until closing time. They also have large lockers, so there’s no need to worry if you have big luggage!
You can enjoy games, you can enjoy sweets, and the best thing about J-WORLD is that you can get immersed in your favorite Shounen Jump world all day long! They also prepared well for travelers from overseas. You can enjoy it even if you don’t know Japanese. I saw a lot of non-Japanese having fun in this theme park on this day. There are no borders in anime and manga.
