Popular smartphone RPG Fate/Grand Order (or FGO) has opened a collaboration cafe on 1 June. It will be open for a limited time in Tokyo and Osaka. The cafe is called Chaldea Boys Collection: Afterparty. MANGA.TOKYO went to the sneak preview at the Tokyo cafe, which is being held at Shinjuku Box.

The concept is ‘Afterparty’

As the Chaldea Boys Collection 2018 (CBC2018) campaign held in-game in March was hugely popular among girls, this party spot has a sweet atmosphere perfect for women.

Everything here, including the decoration of the spot, its menu, merchandise, and even music, has been prepared to let you immerse yourself in the world of CBC2018. Although you’ll need to purchase a pre-order ticket to enjoy this cafe, the ticket comes with a special invite and postcard of CBC2018 Craft Essence. What I received on this day was a postcard of 4-star Craft Essence, ‘Gamblers of Sun and Gold.’

I Couldn’t stop taking photos!

As soon as I entered the cafe, I was welcomed by a life-sized cut-out of Arthur Pendragon and a gorgeous sofa. Of course, this is a spot where you can take as many photos as you like. I’m sure many girls would love the decorations here and would instantly get hyped up for what is to come. Moreover, you’ll see the beautiful wall filled with Craft Essence pictures and wall scrolls, and you won’t be able to stop taking photos. There is also an original merchandise shop where you can buy various acrylic key chains, tin badges, clear file folders, and more.

On the wall of the stairs that lead to the second-floor cafe, chibi characters are illustrated all over and make the space very cute. At the dining spot, you can enjoy themed meals, desserts, and drinks that you can’t have anywhere else. They also offer a seasonal limited menu which makes you want to visit the cafe at least twice. You receive one special coaster per order. There are 24 kinds of coasters with different chibi character illustrations.

Plenty of themed dishes!

In the back of the second-floor cafe, you can find the pictures of past CBC. Right after you reach the second floor, you’ll see gorgeously framed drawings of male servants and Craft Essences imagery on the right side.

While listening to prototype Arthur Pendragon’s fascinating heartful greeting, you can enjoy a variety of their plentiful and Instagrammable dishes. The menu is filled with detailed and tasty plates. What I ordered this time was ‘Gamblers of Sun and Gold cheesecake’ and ‘Cafe Camelot.’

‘Gamblers of Sun and Gold cheesecake’ is a golden pyramid-shaped cotton candy with an original sauce. It is quite a sweet dessert, but when you try it with the slightly bitter sauce on the golden plate, it tastes more sophisticated. I recommend you enjoy the gradation of the taste. I would like you to try it with ‘Cafe Camelot’ coffee which faithfully reproduced the cafe set held by prototype Arthur Pendragon on one of last year’s CBC cards.
