The TV anime series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, a.k.a. Danmachi, aired in 2015. Although It has been 4 years since the cast played their roles in the anime, they said that recordings went smoothly and it didn’t even feel like there had been a gap. Minase talked about when she auditioned for Season 1 and portrayed Hestia when she was just 19 years old. She then talked about her delight at being able to play the same role at age 23. Regarding the love triangle between Bell, Hestia, and Artemis, she said that the audience would see ‘the unknown aspect of Hestia’ in the movie. So, don’t miss the new and cute aspect of Hestia!
Sakamoto, who portrayed the new character Artemis and was new to the cast, confessed that she was initially worried about the age gap between her and the other cast members. She went on to say that she had been worried about nothing as the young cast members easily started chatting with her. ‘I was able to get on with everyone in no time’ she said with a smile, then added ‘but I’m still not sure about Matsuoka.’ Her comment made the fans at the venue laugh.
Hosoya affirmed that the strength of the movie is its brilliant script and explained how the lines are assigned in detail. He raved about the script saying, ‘every line is essential and has meaning in it.’ Uchida said that the new character, Artemis, settled into the story seamlessly. She happily explained that strong bonds between each character and each cast member were built while creating the anime with the same members over a long period.
Onishi confessed that she cried her eyes out when she watched the movie at a preview. ‘The music is incredible!’ she proclaimed and encouraged the fans to focus on the music while watching the movie. ‘There are so many scenes with Hermes in this movie’ Saito pointed out and said that Hermes was plotting from the beginning till the end of the movie, which added more interest.
