Now, let’s check out the meals served at this café. Some menu items were simple and delicious, so I couldn’t make any jokes about them. But some were so silly, that I wanted to shout out ‘I’ve never seen such unique collab-food! Whoever came up with this menu, please come out!’
Let me show you some of the items.
Takeshobou Plate (880 yen)
This is a plate which comes with a hamburger steak, rice, french fries, a salad, and a sheet of dried seaweed with the word ‘Takeshobou’ written on it. I was ready to eat something that tastes horrible, but actually, it was really good. Plus, the price was reasonable.
I always thought that collaboration menu items are a little expensive, but I still paid for them thinking, ‘Well, it’s probably the price for the shop’s interior and the character designs.’ However, Princess Café has completely changed this idea of mine. It’s even cheaper than the lunch served at normal cafés. The portions are also big, so I’m sure it will satisfy you, even if you are really hungry!
Sub-Cult Kuso Onna Soufflé Cake (Stupid Subcultural Girl Soufflé Cake) (880 yen)
A soufflé cake is the very essence of every sub-cult kuso onna’s diet. Surprisingly, it costs the same as the Takeshobou plate. Even the price is ‘subcultural’! But it had rich taste and was delicious, so I recommend it. You can pour as much syrup on it as you want. If you post a photo of yourself pouring syrup on the cake on your social media page, people might call you ‘sub-cult kuso onna’ behind your back!

~ Cultural Note: What is a ‘Sub-Cult Onna (Subcultural Girl)’?
A sub-cult onna is a girl who has her own unique taste and loves sub-cultural things (ex. hobbies, items, cultures that are loved by a minority, rather than the general public). (quoted from ‘Hatena Keyword’) Most sub-cult onnas eat expensive soufflé cakes or pancakes rather than a normal lunch meal, and often post photos of the cakes on Instagram.
Anti da na, Omee Cookies (You’re an Anti, Aren’t You? Cookies) (780 yen)
Seven cookies are on a plate, and one of them has mustard in it. You can play Russian roulette with your friends, and whoever gets the one with the mustard is the ‘Anti-fan’! The cookies are filled with cream, and the mustard is hidden inside, so you cannot tell which one is the spicy one just by looking at them.
▲Although I’m a complete ‘Believer’ of Pop Team Epic and have even purchased all the Pop Team Epic LINE stamps, I was lucky enough to choose the ‘Anti’s cookie’ with the mustard. Of course, the moment I took a bite, I drank down my juice in one go.
Except for the one with the mustard, the cookies tasted so good that I could have eaten them all. The spicy cookie reminded me of oden, a type of Japanese stew with vegetables and fish cakes that some people eat with mustard.
The kitchen staff members prepare the plate as soon as they get an order, and they write different letters on the cookies. The only person who knows which cookie is the one with the mustard is the staff member who wrote the letters!
Popuko Zake, Pipimi Zake (700 yen each)
Popuko Zake is a salty dog, and Pipimi Zake is a cocktail made from plum liquor and blue curacao. They look beautiful when you line them up together.
Nido to SNS ga Dekinaku Naru Drink (The Drink that Stops You from Ever Posting Something Online Again) (500 yen)
The idea for this drink came from the line, ‘Mitero nido to Twitter dekinee youni shiteyaru (Just you wait! I’m gonna stop you from ever using Twitter again.)’, so the drink is colored in Twitter-blue. It is a refreshing drink (which completely mismatches its name) and tastes like grapefruit.
Doro Mizu Coffee (Muddy Water Coffee) (500 yen)
It’s an iced coffee that looks like mud. It is a menu item that has made a comeback!
‘For sure, the only manga capable of creating such unique collab-food and drinks are JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Pop Team Epic…’, I thought, when the waiter brought me the last menu item. The final boss of the day…!
Aka-chan ni Nacchau Kahlua and Milk (1,000 yen)
‘Shouganeedaro, aka-chan nandakara. (Can’t be helped, I’m just a baby.)’
Surprisingly, the cocktail is served in a baby bottle, which the café has bought from a real baby goods store. The feeding bottle comes with a cap, so it is handy to carry! You can drink the cocktail just by biting the bottle softly like a baby! Has there ever been a collab-café, or even a normal café, which has served drinks in a baby bottle? Probably not…
It has been twenty-something years since I drank from a baby bottle.
Right now, as I am writing this article, my mother is looking at this photo. This is too hard to explain. (‘_’)
Nevertheless, this Kahlua and milk is a very popular menu item because of its uniqueness.
Store Manager: It is only at Princess Café that you can see adult customers standing in a line drinking from a baby bottle!
It was that comment that pushed me over the line to try it as well. I recommend this cocktail not only to people who like to act like babies, but also to those who are feeling stressed out from work and family relations. You may be able to forget about a lot of things just by sucking on the bottle, and you won’t need to feel embarrassed at the Princess Café, since you are not the only one doing this.
By the way, you can take the baby bottle back home with you. It’s in the price.
(Once the bottles are sold out, the Kahlua and milk will be served in a glass cup, and the price will change to 700 yen. If you really want to drink from the bottle, you should hurry!) Those under age 20 will be served milk instead of alcohol. Even more baby-like!
