The final part of the Chain Chronicle ~Haecceitas no Hikari~ trilogy was finally released on February 11. On the first day of the screening the following cast greeted the audience: Akira Ishida (Yuri), Asami Imai (Michidia), Kotori Koiwai (Juliana) and Nao Toyama (Musica). Together with the two directors, Masahi Kudo and Hirokazu Hanai, they talked about the movie!
Looking back at their work Ishida said: ‘First I want to celebrate [laugh]! I’m glad we’ve reached the dramatic end. Just like Yuri, I made mistakes and there were frustrating things where I thought “This is wrong”, but I thought it was really good to be able to look back and have precious friends around. The people that watched Chain Chronicle 3 must have felt the same thing, I think. It was like meeting a friend.’ When asked about which scene was special to them, he said, ‘I learnt in this trilogy that a person can be a weapon, too, if you throw them. [laugh] Even in part 2 Yuri is like “Come at me!” while being thrown. [laugh] I learnt a lot from it!’
Koiwai said, ‘The opening of the movie is cool! I thought that after the really cool cut you see each character and their charms, topped with the great voice of Nao Toyama.’ Toyama expressed her thanks by saying, ‘When I heard “Chain the world” at the theater, I slowly started to get goosebumps. To be able to sing three songs in the movie as Musica and express so many things in the songs was a great honor for me.’
About the movie Imai said with joy, ‘The Volunteer Army started off with 5 people, including Michida and Yuri, and on the way they make more friends. After that, they had to part from some of them, but eventually it wasn’t about who was wrong, instead they all gave their best to live. But seeing the five of them drawn together at the end made me shed tears. Thank you, Director!’ She added, ‘Chain Chronicle is based on a game that got developed into an anime and a radio show, but I just realized how many people love it. I am looking forward to the movie version!’
