This is Okamu with another themed cafe report for MANGA.TOKYO! I went to the new menu presentation of ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans ~Tekkadan Futatabi Fair~’ at the ‘GUNDAM café Akihabara Branch’ on November 15, 2016.
This is a place where you can enjoy both the meals that you can see the anime as well as other meals that use the anime as a motif.
This is the entrance to the ‘GUNDAM Café Akihabara shop’. It’s on the right side of the elevated railroad from the ‘Denkigai’ exit of JR Akihabara station, so you will know it right away.
*The same fair is also being held in the GUNDAM café Odaiba shop (Daibacity Tokyo plaza 2nd floor, 1-1-10, Aomi, Etou ward, Tokyo) and GUNDAM SQUARE (Lala port expo city, 2-1, Senribanpakukoen, Suita, Osaka).
*Menus may be different depending on the branch.
You can see the RX-78-2 Gundam inside the cafe and a wall full of signatures of people related to Gundam. It would be nice if every house had one of these!
Here is the menu:
The cake named ‘Calm afternoon ~Bauduin Family Tea Time~’ is decorated especially for parties and gives a brilliant atmosphere.
This cream stew looks delicious. Just like in the anime, it contains big chunks of vegetables and you can feel the warmth of the dish. It had a quality that was exactly as I expected.
You may have been curious about ‘polenta’ if you have seen the anime. Take this dish and you can feel like you are in the Tekkadan. It’s very hot so wait a few minutes until it cools down.
*If the cafe is crowded then please hurry to enjoy the dishes
There is even more on the menu related to Iron-Blooded Orphans. I would like to come again and again to enjoy everything.
The shop has some amazing merchandise that you will definitely want to buy.
These fresh Tekkadan steamed buns are hot and tasty!
The rumored polenta! It has a plain taste with a unique texture. You can eat it as a staple food and it’s delicious just like that. I want to eat a lot!
GUNDAM café has good reputation. Fans say that the shop items are highly-reproduced and the food is really good. The location is great too, so you too can visit when you come to Japan for sightseeing. I highly recommend you to take a break at the GUNDAM café!
