When we look at the volume of anime that has been released, we can find many super-powered characters. Sometimes they appear so insanely powerful that it’s easy to think of them as the strongest characters in the world of anime.

I did a survey based on the popularity and strength of various anime characters and put together a list of the 5 most insanely strong anime characters.  First, I compiled a list of the strongest anime characters, and then based on their popularity among anime fans, I have chosen 5 of them for this article. Please note that these characters are in no particular order.

Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Luffy is strong, and quite popular with many anime fans. The future conqueror of One Piece, the rubber man, belongs to the ranks of the strongest characters in the animeverse. After defeating Dogtooth (Katakuri), his powers have increased a lot. Luffy’s ‘Observation Haki’ evolved into something great. He can now predict his opponent moves by looking a few seconds into the future. This power combined with the new ‘Gear Fourth’ i.e. ‘Snake Man’, makes this One Piece character even more powerful, thus making him one of the strongest anime characters.

Saitama (One-Punch Man)

What if all you ever needed was one punch to defeat any enemy that came your way? Well, that’s how it works with this next super hero, One-Punch Man series protagonist Saitama. Saitama defeats almost all his opponents with a single punch. It’s told that he has never broken a sweat fighting any character till now. With only 1 season released so far at 12 episodes, this show was a hit and Saitama got his place as one of the strongest characters that can defeat anyone with a single punch. I often come across posts on social media that imagine Saitama Vs Goku. Now all the fans are waiting for the second season to start in April 2019, so that they can see more of Saitama’s one-punch victories.

Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)

There goes no single anime fan who doesn’t know this famous character. Naruto Uzumaki of the Shinobi (ninja) World is also said to be one of the strongest anime characters and surely has millions of fans across the world. This person, the controller of Nine Tails (Nine tail Jinchuriki), is the master of many powerful ninja techniques. He not only has a greater control over his chakra, but he is on top when it comes to his Taijutsu. His powers boost to an immense level when he goes into Nine Tails Chakra mode. When he turns to Sage of Six paths mode, no wonder his powers really go insane, thus earning his place as one of the strongest anime character in the animeverse.

Goku (Dragon Ball)

Goku is one of the most recognizable anime characters. His signature move ‘Kamehameha’ is considered to be one of the most-liked moves to millions of anime fans. It is almost impossible to talk about ‘strong anime characters’ without mentioning Goku. This Dragon Ball hero has made his impact on almost all anime fans with his overwhelming strength. He has impressed many with his new skills like the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue power ups. His new move ‘Ultra Instinct’ has raised his power to an insane level and captures the attention of all anime fans all over again. With this overwhelming power and strength, this Dragon Ball character is probably the first character a lot of us think of if we think of strong anime characters.

Zeref Dragneel (Fairy Tail)

Considered to be the strongest dark wizard of all the animeverse, this person from Fairy Tail is extremely powerful when it comes to strength and magic when compared to other anime characters out there. Being the big brother of Natsu Dragneel, Zeref has also gained the attention of many anime fans for his super strength and overwhelming magic skills. The Ankhseram black magic with which he was cursed with can kill any living creature he wants to kill. He has mastered all the black arts and is also the creator of many powerful demons, E.N.D (Etherious Natsu Dragneel) being the most powerful one, and also he is the creator of magic itself. Being cursed with immortality moves him to another level, thus making him one of the strongest in the animeverse.

These are some of the strongest anime characters out there. Many of you might wonder why I’ve missed out characters like Sasuke, Zoro, and Vegeta whose power is almost on the same level as some of the characters on the list. The simple answer is that I chose in such a way that we only have one character appear from each series. The characters in the list are not the only high-powered characters, but I’ve just gone for series and characters I’m sure many of you will have heard of. There are many strong anime characters out there who could be said to be as strong as the above-mentioned characters.
