The story begins with the scene where the protagonist, Sawako, who is a little shy girl, meets Kazehaya, who is a very fine boy and popular in the class. This anime depicts Sawako gradually growing and the various human events centering on her, such as friendship, love, and career choices.

Sawako’s pureness is very attractive and Kazehaya’s personality is also wonderful. After watching this anime, I bet you will want to fall in love! This work makes us think this is ‘the’ romance anime!

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April)

This anime depicts the growth and lives of boys and girls using the theme of classical music. Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story!!)

The personalities of the individual characters are represented well. The high school students are in difficult situations: The person that he/she loves is one of his/her friends. While watching the anime, I feel vividly how they are facing difficulties, and cannot help wishing that every person would become happy.

In addition, rural Japanese landscapes are portrayed very beautifully. You should feel a little nostalgic for them.
This story appears to be set in Shinshu (or Nagano Prefecture in the central region of Japan’s mainland). Why don’t you visit there once in summer if you want to feel the atmosphere shown in Waiting in the Summer?

Bokura ga Ita

This anime depicts a love story of high school students. You should feel excited about the wavering emotions of a couple at the age of puberty from the beginning to the end. The relationship of the couple is well portrayed. They maintain a cautious distance from each other and you can empathize with both of them. This is what is good about anime, isn’t it? The feelings of the characters are also depicted very delicately. This anime has a mysterious charm which makes you feel like watching it forever.
