It has been announced that the anime adaptation of Wataru Watanabe’s manga Yowamushi Pedal will be getting a fourth season. It will be broadcast from January 2018.
The new season was announced at the Yowamushi Pedal NEW GENERATION’s event, ‘Le Tour de Yowapeda 2017~’, on 9 July 2017. Daiki Yamashita (Sakamichi Onoda) attended the event, ‘I am happy! The battle against Manami-kun, with whom he promised to go home together in Season 3, hasn’t been depicted yet. I am sure there will many more aspects of the characters to see [in Season 4] so I am very excited as a viewer!’
When the MC commented, ‘For all of you from New Generation, there may be more eye-catching scenes from now’, Yuma Uchida (Yuuto Shinkai, who didn’t have a race season in Season 3) said, ‘Yes, I was… really waiting for Season 4 the most!’ Jun Fukuyama (Komari Kishigami) said, ‘As of now, I just want to interact (with other characters) [laugh]’ raising expectations for the next season while likening himself to the character.
It was revealed that a re-edited version of Season 3 titled Yowamushi Pedal: Re:Generation would be screened in Japanese cinemas in October 2017. The details will be announced at a later date.
The first season of the TV anime Yowamushi Pedal aired from October 2013 until June 2014, and the second season (Grande Road) from October 2014 until March 2015. Also, from January to June this year, the third season, New Generation was broadcast depicting the main character, Sakamichi Onoda becoming a second year student and a new generation of cyclists competing on the first day of Inter-high.
