Hiroto Ida’s You Don’t Know Gunma Yet (Omae wa Mada Gunma wo Shiranai) is getting a TV anime adaptation! It is scheduled to start on Gunma TV in April 2018 and will also be available on Animax, GYAO! and more.
The news was announced at the solo concert of the Gunma-born voice actress Aya Uchida on 4 February 2018. The anime will use Aya’s song ‘So Happy’ for its ending.
The manga is being serialized on Shinchosha’s manga website Kurage Bunch and the story is set in Gunma in the Western part of Northern Kanto, where many mysteries lie. The comedy is told from the point-of-view of high school boy Nori Kamitsuki, who transfers schools from Chiba prefecture to Gunma and starts to learn about the unique culture of the prefecture and the strong love people from Gunma feel for their home. In 2017, a live action series and movie adaptation were made for the story.
Mankyuu (Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Gekijou) will be in charge of directing and series composition. The character design is done by Tomonori Kogawa and the anime will be produced by Asahi Production, in co-operation with CJT.
