Woodpecker Detective’s Office (Kitsutsuki Tantei Dokoro) has an anime adaptation coming out in April 2020 and has introduced the main cast for the series! The series is to star Shintaro Asanuma as Takuboku Ishikawa and Takahiro Sakurai as Kyosuke Kindaichi. Ishikawa is a genius poet and is based on the real-life historical figure of the same name. Kindaichi is Ishikawa’s old upperclassman from middle school and is a lecturer at a university. He is also based on a real-life historical figure. Kindaichi is a fan of Ishikawa’s work, but his kindness means he often gets pushed around by Ishikawa. A key visual has been released for the anime, which shows Shintaro and Kyosuke standing above the Ryounkaku in Tokyo’s Asakusa district. The anime is part of the Kimi no Koe project, and will introduce us to some brand new voice acting talent along with the two veteran stars.
