Japan is celebrating Mother’s Day on 14 May! Since the day is less than a month away, anime goods store Kamikawa has announced that they will hold a ‘Tell Your Family How Much you Appreciate Them Fair’ (Daisukina Kazoku ni Higoro no Kansha wo Tsutaeyou Fair). Visitors to the store will receive special items like photographs or message cards if they come together with their mother or younger sister and buy goods associated with the campaign.

There was a similar campaign held in January this year, where customers who came to their store with their mothers could receive a special gift. The otaku fans took it a little too literally and aside from their real mothers, they brought mothers that existed in their smartphone, plushie moms, and even their friends’.

This time, you can bring not just your mom but also your younger sister! On the official homepage, the animate team notes: ‘We will take your word that you have brought your mother or younger sister. (We will not check if the connection is true)’ and ‘It’s okay if the picture of your mother or younger sister is not your real mother or younger sister.’

We are sure this campaign will once again gain a lot of attention.

If you purchase one of the campaign goods, you get a present. For every campaign item you buy, you get one lottery ticket for the special prize. The special prize is an ‘Itsudemo issho okaasan mouse pad’.

Those who tweet a gratitude message to their mother or younger sister with the hashtag #大好きお母さん (I love my mother) or #大好き妹 (I love my younger sister) get the chance to win a carnation bouquet on 14 May 2017.
