Haruko Ichikawa’s seinen manga series Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous) revealed the first teaser for its anime adaptation!
Houseki no Kuni is a fantasy action story, which plays in the distant future when the mysterious ‘moon people’ come down from the moon and start to fight the Houseki (jewel people). In the teaser, we see the beautiful work of the anime’s CGI and we are introduced to the main character Phos and other delicate Houseki people. We also get some short glimpses of the fight with the Moon People.
The anime will start airing in October. Takahiko Kyogoku will direct the movie, who is known for working on Love Live! and Pretty Rhythm. Toshiya Ono is doing the series composition and Asako Nishida is in charge of the character design. The animation production is being headed by Orange (Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance and Macross F: The Movie).
