2018 is almost out, guys and girls, and that means that another anime year is ready to take its place.
GARO series’ theatrical anime Usuzumizakura -Garo- will open in Japanese cinemas in October 2018. It has been announced that Masei Nakayama, Romi Park, and Akiko Yajima are some of the great talents who have been cast for this movie.
Usuzumizakura -Garo-, based on a manga by Keita Amemiya, is an anime series spin-off of the tokusatsu series Garo. It takes place during the Heian period, the same time as the 2015 TV anime Garo: Guren no Tsuki. The sad but beautiful revenge play begins when the two onmyoji meet.
Masakazu Katsura (Tiger & Bunny, Video Girl Ai) is in charge of the title’s character design. Yasuko Kobayashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan) is handling the script. Hajime no Ippo‘s Satoshi Nishimura is to direct over at studio VOLN (Ushio and Tora). Usuzumizakura -Garo- will be produced by Studio M2 (Onihei Hankachou).
Masei Nakayama, Romi Park and Akiko Yajima will reprise their roles of Raiko, Seimei, and Kintoki from Garo: Guren no Tsuki. Additional cast members are Kenyu Horiuchi as Fujiwara no Michinaga, Daisuke Namikawa as Fujiwara no Yasusuke, Katsuhito Nomura as Minamoto no Yorinobu, Mayu Udono as Inari, Joji Nakata as Tenko and Tomokazu Seki as Takeru.
Early bird tickets can be purchased at Garo‘s special cafe, which is to open at AREA-Q in Shinjuku, Tokyo, from 15 June 2018. B2 posters with the teaser visual design are the extras that come with this tickets. By purchasing tickets inside theaters from 16 June, one out of three illustrated cards, by Masakazu Katsura, will be given out for free. The texture of Katsura’s signature can be felt.
