Ken Akamatsu’s UQ HOLDER! Mahou Sensei Negima! 2 manga will be adapted into an anime series scheduled to premiere in October, Fall 2017 season. Kodansha has already opened the official website and Twitter account, and also revealed the main key visual, staff, and the cast of the main protagonist!
Yuka Takakura (Oushima from Urara Meirochou) is going to play the protagonist, Touta Konoe. Youhei Suzuki (Urara Meirochou, Sword Oratoria, Danmachi) will direct the series with J.C. Staff and EGG FIRM handling the production. Ken Akamatsu will have an active role in the anime, handling the series composition together with Shogo Yasukawa from Shokugeki No Soma and Alderamin on the Sky. Masahiro Fujii will design the characters.
The anime is set in the same world as his other work Negima! Magister Negi Magi. Years after the events of Negima!, people have become aware of the existence of magic. While the rest of the world is in turmoil over this, Touta’s life in a secluded rural town hardly changed. He wants to move to the city, but first he must defeat his immortal and magic-using teacher!
The latest volume of the manga, Vol.13 (Kodansha Comics), will be released on Sunday 9 April 2017. Kodansha also publishes the manga in English. They released Vol.10 on 10 March.
