Kanna Kii’s popular BL manga Umibe no Étranger will be getting a theatrical animated movie that will be released in Japan in summer 2020. It is the third movie to be announced under the Blue Lynx label, after Twittering Birds Never Fly and Given.

The movie takes places on the beautiful tropical islands of Okinawa in southern Japan and follows the story of a romance between a boy and an aspiring novelist.
Former animator Kanna will be overseeing the production of the movie, and will even be handling the character designs herself. The movie will be directed and written by Akeyo Ohashi over at Studio Hibari.
