The first season of the TV anime series Rewrite aired from July to September 2016. It has been announced that its second season will start on January 14, 2017!

INTRODUCTION

Kotarou Tennouji had been living an ordinary life, investigating mysterious happenings at Kazamatsuri High School along with other members of the Occult Research Club. One day, he meets the ‘key’, Kagari, and this encounter becomes the beginning of Kotarou’s confrontation with the world’s fate. The world had once come to an ‘end’, but Kotarou fights against the future of destruction and tries to start everything over to protect the planet.

The tremendously popular game Rewrite was originally released in 2011. Tenshou (formerly known as Motoki Tanaka) will be the director and story editor for the anime project. Tenshou has also created the opening animation in the original game. Assisting the making and scriptwriting will be Romeo Tanaka, the scenario writer of the original game, and Kai (from Visual Arts), the scenario writer of the popular game Clannad.
On top of that, Masayuki Nonaka, who has worked with Tenshou as the main animator of the Grisaia Series (Grisaia no Kajitsu) will be designing the characters. Animation studio 8-bit will be producing the anime.
