Visual novel game Island, published by PC game brand Frontwing (Grisaia series) in 2016, will get an anime adaptation in 2018. The anime has released a teaser page and announced that the game’s voice actors will continue to play the heroines. They have also posted comments by Yukari Tamura, Kana Asumi, and Rie Murakawa!
Setsuna is a young man who is stranded on a remote island. The remote island is being teased by the mainland because of its discrepancies about old traditions and endemic diseases. Setsuna is going to unravel mysteries hidden in the world with the island’s popular family Urashima Oguinaya’s girls. It is a magnificent sci-fi story that became a hot topic because of its clever scenario and the numerous sub-plots.
The official teaser website reveals that feel., who established its reputation by creating Tsuki ga Kirei, D.C.II ~ Da CapoII~, and other anime featuring lively young female characters, will be in charge of this anime. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the three main heroines from the game Rinne Ohara, Karen Kurutsu, and Sora Garandou will be played by the same voice actors as from the game.
Yukari Tamura, who will play Rinne Ohara, comments: ‘I’ve been completely absorbed by the game’s recording. I’m really glad that this game will get an anime version so everyone can watch it. I can’t wait to see how the magnificent story will be delivered through the anime. I would be happy if everyone is looking forward to it like I am. Thank you in advance!’
Kana Asumi, who will play Karen Kurutsu, comments: ‘The long-awaited Island anime…! I myself was very interested in this work and got absorbed into its world, so I am really happy to make an anime about it. I would love it if the game’s fans and new fans got to know and like Island. Please take a look at the story of Setsuna and the three girls on the island.’
Last but not least the comment from Rie Murakawa as Sara Garandou: ‘I think that it has been about 2 or 3 years since the game’s recording, but I immediately heard about the anime adaptation, as soon as the game’s recording finished. I thought that it was amazing that the anime adaptation got decided so early. I think that the staff’s love and affection towards Island is being well-portrayed. We, the staff that is cherishing this work a lot and are united as one team, hope that the players of the game and the new fans appreciate this anime.’
