Cos-lab, the Japanese app by i-hearts in which cosplayers and cosplay fans can connect with each other, held its second cosplay event on 26 August 2017 in Tokyo titled ‘Cos-lab! in Jindai-ji’.
Even though the event started early in the morning, over 100 cosplayers and photographers showed up. The location was chosen well, as the Jindai-ji is surrounded by nature and looks very peaceful. The temple is also home to the statue of Hakuhoh Buddah, which was announced a national treasure in March 2017.
Cosplayers from all kinds of series were at the event: Touken Ranbu, Fate/Grand Order, Gintama and more. It is fun to take pictures in certain poses or make the cosplayers pretend to be in certain situations. To participate at the event, a participation fee is required but it included a meal coupon so the cosplayers enjoyed going to the soba restaurant after the party was over.
Because the event was successful, the next cos-lab event has been already scheduled. It will be titled ‘Eigamachi Chofu ‘Aki’Hanabi 2017 Tokyo Cosplay Festival Produce by Cos-lab!’ and will be held in Chofu, Tokyo. Over 8,000 fireworks will be shot during the festival and can be enjoyed either directly below the fireworks or at the near riverbank.
