Akira didn’t even think that he would re-encounter his colleague Takizawa, who is supposed to be dead and his former superior Kotaro Amon. However, they both were used as experiments, had kakuho implanted in their bodies and became half-ghouls. Akira is surprised and confused. The Quinx Squad, led by Kuki Urie, arrives.
The Quinx Squad, an organized team of half-ghouls who were artificially created by the CCG, comes to support Hoji and the Mado Squad and cooperates in pursuing Takizawa and the other ‘Ghouls’. On the other hand, after a hard fight between Kaneki and Arima, Arima suffers his first defeat in his investigator life. Arima entrusts Kaneki with something.
