Excited to see the live action movie adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul? We still have to wait a few months until summer, but MANGA.TOKYO has the new visual of Touka Kirishima (played by Fumika Shimizu) to quench your thirst for a little while.
Touka Kirishima is one of the main protagonists: a man-eating ghoul, a high schooler, and a part-timer at Anteiku cafe.
According to Touka’s actress Shimizu, she has cut her hair short for the first time in 12 years, ‘I was so lucky to have this valuable opportunity to play Touka Kirishima in the movie Tokyo Ghoul, so I simply had no choice but to do it. I took the plunge and got my hair cut by about 30cm.’
This visual is the second we get after Ken Kaneki (Masataka Kubota). The live action movie Tokyo Ghoul will be released in Summer 2017.
Additionally, Weekly Young Jump’s next issue (to come out on January 26) is scheduled to feature Shimizu in the cafe Anteiku’s uniform as well as in bikinis
Official Comment from Fumika Shimizu
‘This short haircut is my first one in 12 years since I was a 4th grader in elementary school. Since I’ve had long hair for a long time, it actually feels really weird. However, I was so lucky to get this valuable opportunity to play Touka Kirishima in the movie Tokyo Ghoul, so I simply had no choice but to do it. I took the plunge and got my hair cut by about 30cm. Now I like my short hair very much because I don’t have to spend as much time in the bathroom as I had to before. Also, thanks to this short hair, I felt really comfortable during the practices for the action scenes. Please stay tuned for the movie, Tokyo Ghoul!’
