It’s been months since we last heard anything new about the upcoming Tokyo Ghoul live action movie. We now have the official logo of the movie and the first poster visual that shows protagonist Ken Kaneki (actor: Masataka Kubota) holding the iconic ghoul mask.
Masanori Morikawa (CHRISTIAN DADA) is the guy responsible for all the costumes. Morikawa is a fan of the original work and he commented, ‘I worked with the director to give a flair of originality using the manga as a base.’

The Tokyo Ghoul corner at Jump Festa 2017 (December 17 – 18) at Makuhari Messe in Chiba will display the actual mask Kubota wore during production. They will also show a 2-minute clip during the Jump Super Stage on December 18.
The original story of Tokyo Ghoul features Ken Kaneki’s story, a boy who accidentally gets turned into Ghoul, a flesh-eating creature. The movie is planned to be released in Summer 2017.
Masanori Morikawa (CHRISTIAN DADA) Comment
‘I myself am a fan of original work. I’m very honored to receive this opportunity. For the mask and costumes I worked with the director to give a flair of originality using the manga as a base. I hope fans of Tokyo Ghoul will like my work.’
Director Kentaro Hagiwara’s comment
‘What can I say- it’s really cool. With Morikawa, we were particular about the little details in the design to make it look real. The costume is even cooler when Kuboto is wearing it. Please come to the movie theater to see it!’
