Starting 27 April 2017, the side story of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun) called Toaru Kagaku no Railgun Gaiden: – Astral Buddy (A Certain Scientific Railgun Side Story – Astral Buddy) began serialization in Kadokawa’s Monthly Dangeki Daioh.
Just like the main manga, it is based on the story of Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Motoi Fuyukawa. It will be a spin-off with the students of Tokiwadai Middle School as the main characters. It all starts when Hokaze Junko visits Kuroko Shirai because she was involved in a certain incident.
In the same issue, two other new series are lined up. One is called Anata no Yusha (Danna) Uwaki Shitemasu yo (Your Hero (Husband) is Betraying You) by Nutmeg Seijuu, a unique fantasy where a princess has to fight fierce battles with the girls hoping to have an affair with her hero-husband. The other one is Akira Fujimatsu’s Oni Futatsu,, which tells the story of a boy who hates the demon inside him. The demons are called ‘shinki’ and it has started to become the norm for ‘shinki’ to occupy the humans’ hearts in his world.
Dangeki Daioh is going to release more new series in their July issue as well, which comes out on 27 May 2017. Included in the new lineup are Kino’s Journey (Kino no Tabi the Beautiful World), originally a light novel written by Keiichi Sigsawa’s and drawn by Sato, Koi no Torikata by Kanoka Tana, and Furidashi ni Ochiru! by Musshu.
Furthermore, in the August issue to be released on 27 June 2017, three new series will start. Asobigatari no Kiryuu-san, based on Yuu Sanui’s story and drawings by Sumihito Itami, Kago no Shojo wa Koi wo Suru by Izumi Kawanami, and Maou no Kawaii Yamada wa Yoiko by Kiichi Kiama.
