We still have a few episodes left before we wrap up our season’s episodic reviews, but the news about the upcoming anime are hitting our office like self-guided missiles. There are so many to handle, and we are trying to pick the most interesting and relevant anime and otaku news just for you!

Part of our staff here at MANGA.TOKYO are so in love with R Nomura that whenever we get the new official anime screenshots for the upcoming episodes, you see a swarm of fans creeping over one screen to admire the new images and read the blurb. It seems that many of our readers are also fans of the series, since many of you decided to read more about the live event that is going to take place in Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall this weekend.
We are all passengers on the anime hype train. We can’t get enough of new visuals, teaser videos, and cast info on upcoming anime series. In this case, we had all three for the upcoming Spring 2017 anime Roku de Nashi Majutsu Koushi (Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor).

The same applies to one of the most anticipated comedies of Spring 2017, Eromanga Sensei. The peculiar comedy anime follows the story of Masamune Izumi, a high school boy who also works as a light novel (young-adult fiction) author, and has a younger stepsister, Sagiri, who is a hikikomori (a shut-in). We’ve all been waiting for a second season of Overlord, ever since the compilation movies were announced. The anime was so popular that a second season seemed inevitable, and it seems that we were right.
Can you believe that Godzilla was never adapted into an anime? The most famous monster of them all has countless movies and cameo appearances in popular culture, but they never considered an anime adaptation… until now. The Godzilla anime is going to be released by Netflix!
