It has been announced that an anime adaptation of Kaiu Shirai (story) and Posuka Demizu (art)’s manga The Promised Neverland will air in Fuji TV’s noitaminA time-slot from January 2019. The manga is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. A combined total of 5 millions copies of the manga have been sold worldwide so far.
Issue 26 of Weekly Shonen Jump, which went on sale on 28 May, revealed the news about the anime’s release date. The magazine’s cover was decorated with an illustration of the work. It also included a character voting, rough character designs of Emma, Norman, and Ray and an extra booklet with the title Promised Neverland Invitation Book which approaches the mystery of title.
The manga has released 8 volumes so far. The ninth volume will go on sale on 4 June 2018. By purchasing the new manga in participating stores, fans will get a poster with rough sketches drawn by the anime’s character designer.
Don’t forget to watch the preview video including the voices of Emma, Norman, and Ray. The voice actors will soon be revealed. Please note that the YouTube video is not viewable outside Japan.
