The second season of the anime adaptation of The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) will start airing in October 2020. A teaser visual has also been released, which reminds us of the final scene from the anime’s first season.
The Promised Neverland is based on a manga by Kaiu Shirai (story) and Posuka Demizu (art), which is currently running in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Described as a prison break story with a twist, the manga has been collated into 16 volumes so far and has sold over 16 million copies. The first season of the anime adaptation aired between January and March 2019.
Along with the new teaser visual, the anime’s official website has been updated with a page which lets you look back on some of the most memorable moments from the first series.
Like the first season, the second series of The Promised Neverland is due to broadcast in Fuji TV’s famous Noitamina timeslot.
A live-action movie adaptation of the manga is also slated to be open at Japanese cinemas on 18 December 2020, making next year truly a year of The Promised Neverland.
