The Eccentric Family 2 is standing for anything traditional and is well known to be deeply connected to Kyoto, as the story is set in the city and the people living there can recognize every last background used in the anime. It has been revealed that the series is promoting the Gozan-Okuribi through a poster. Okuribi literally translates to ’sending fire’ and it’s a tradition during the Obon festival in August. Five giant bonfires are lit on five mountains, including the famous Daimonji, surrounding Kyoto. They are there to guide the spirits back to the spiritual world after visiting their family during the Obon holidays.
On the poster we can see Benten in a beautiful Yukata, sitting on a bench and looking at all the bonfires of the mountains and the beautiful lights of the city below.
