A couple of weeks ago Nintendo announced that they would be collaborating with Universal Studios Japan for a new section based on titles from our favorite videogame maker.
We have a brand new visual and the latest info!
The area is going to be named, ‘SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’. For those of us who grew up outside Japan, the name brings in mind the 16-bit console that shares it, but we are guessing that’s not what they were thinking when deciding the name.
The area will make use of state-of-the-art technology in a massive, multi-storey area that will be comprised of rides, interactive areas, shops, and restaurants. Lots of money will be spent on this project: 50 billion yen are being invested in this attraction – that’s even more than the hugely popular Universal Studios attraction ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’! There is a certain level of commitment from both Nintendo and Universal.
The key visual features Nintendo’s visual ambassador, Mario, and his brother, Luigi in front of a visual representation of the park.
We also have an estimated opening date. The attraction is due to open prior to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Although SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will be opening at Universal Studios worldwide, Universal Studios Japan in Osaka will have the honor of being the first to host Mario and his friends.
The official website is now open, so keep your eyes peeled and MANGA.TOKYO will bring you all the latest information!
