Fall 2017 Anime: Official Twitter Hashtags & Pages
The MANGA.TOKYO staff had its share of summer. Now, all we wish is for the hot and humid weather to go away and give its place to the red and cool autumn.
On Saturday 25 February 2017 the opening event for Digimon Adventure tri. Chapter 4: Lost was held at Shinjuku Wald 9, Tokyo. At the center of the 4th chapter are Sora Takenouchi (VA: Suzuko Mimori), Biyomon (VA: Atori Shigematsu) and Maki Himekawa (VA: Yuko Kaida), who attended the event as guests. After the screening, they held a talk show for the viewers.
Shigematsu greeted the audience, ‘Hello, everybody! How was Biyomon? From now on Sora and Biyomon will become good friends again, so please don’t hate Biyomon! [laugh]’ Many people were concerned as there was continuing tension between Sora and Biyomon, who have been partners for a while. But Shigematsu could relax when the audience applauded her.
When asked about what has stuck with her in this movie, Mimori answered, ‘Sora is cold towards Biyomon and annoyed by Taichi and Yamato for not understanding her feelings, so the audience thinks “That’s hard” or “I also want to to be caught by someone like Taichi and Yamato! [laugh] I want childhood friends like them.” Shigematsu said with joy, “I could finally evolve!”, because she was able to do a mega digivolution to Hououmon. Did you hear the name of my special attack? I had to re-do that scene at least 4 times and nearly choked on it…’ With that the audience burst into laughter and the talk turned to the voice recordings.
‘Ikeda-kun (voice of Joe) often imitates Hackmon. Once Kinoko-san (voice of Palmon) sat next to him. So Ikeda-kun starts imitating Kinoko-san, to which she says, “Instead of me, you should imitate Palmon!” (laugh) But Ikeda-kun is really good at sounding like Palmon, he sounds pretty much like the real thing.’
They continued to talk about when Yuko Kaida recorded a scene from Himekawa’s time at university, ‘I had already worked with Namikawa-san, so I wasn’t nervous or anything, but during the test-run his voice sounded a lot younger than I had imagined it would. He sounded way cuter than any university student would. [laugh]’ In the end, Namikawa’s version of the voice was rejected and they recorded the scene normally.
At the ending of the movie, the title for the 5th part was revealed to be ‘Kyousei’ (lit. ‘Symbiosis’ or ‘Union’). Along with it they released the key visuals of Hikari, Meiko, Ofanimon, Meicoomon in it’s mega digivolution, and a mysterious digimon that nobody knows. Shigematsu, who just recently finished recording for the 5th story, said, ‘Ofanimon had it hard. When I saw why it is the way it is, my heart felt heavy.’
Mimori concluded the event saying, ‘Finally we could meet everybody. The series is already in it’s second half and we are wondering how it will continue from now on. Please enjoy it until the end!’ The audience applauded wildly and the stage event ended.
