An event was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on 9 March to commemorate the release of Sound! Euphonium ~Todoketai Melody~‘s Blu-ray and DVD two days prior(7 March 2018). The movie, a recap movie of the second season, opened on 30 September 2017 in Japan.
The Blu-ray comes with lots of special features, including an audio commentary by the directors, Tomoyo Kurosawa and Minako Kotobuki. The booklet contains a dialogue from director Taiichi Ogawa and character designer Shoko Ikeda and a lot more.
The two guests at the event, Minako Kotobuki (Asuka Tanaka) and Saori Hayami (Haruka Ogasawara) talked about re-dubbing scenes for the movie version and their feelings for the characters they played. The celebration ended with Hayami shouting ‘Kitauji Fight!’, which is a phrase from the series.

Movie Liz and the Blue Bird
To open on 21 April 2018.
That girl is a blue bird.
To fly freely in the blue sky is her joy.
But because I was scared of being alone, I put her in a bird cage and pretended not to notice her sorrow.
Both are members of the Kitauji High School concert band club: Mizore Yoroizuka, who plays the oboe, and Nozomi Kasaki, who plays the flute. They are in their third year and it’s their final competition. For the free song, they chose the song ‘Liz and the Blue Bird’, which has an oboe and flute solo.
‘This song seems like us.’
While Nozomi is enjoying her instrument fully, Mizore is happy with her days spent with Nozomi but fears the day when she won’t be able to do so. They are supposed to be best friends. But their oboe and flute solos don’t go well together and causes them to feel the distance between them.
