Yaku Gureishi’s Somali and the Forest Spirit has released a new trailer and the main visual. Additional cast members have also been revealed.
The anime adaptation based on the fantasy manga series will come out in January 2020. It is a story set in a world that is outside of the control of humans, where the young human girl Somali travels with Golem, a guard of the forest. The trailer shows off the world these two travel around in while the visual shows Golem (voiced by Daisuke Ono) as he carries the girl Somali (voiced by Inori Minase) on his shoulders.
Additional cast members were revealed as well. The character Aunty Rosa, who Somali and Golem meet in a village they visit, will be voiced by Japanese actress Rie Shibata. This will be the first time voicing a character in a TV anime. Musurika will be voiced by Sho Hayami, Kokilia by Tomokazu Seki, Hazel by Ai Kayano and Praline will be voiced by Ayahi Takagaki.
Comment from Rie Shibata
Hello, I’m Rie Shibata and will voice Aunty Rosa. This is my first time as a TV anime voice actress and had a lot of fun recording for characters that throw fair punches. For this anime I’ve also recorded a nursery rhyme! It is a series with a solid story, so I think it’s something that can be enjoyed by anybody even if they don’t normally watch anime. Please look forward to seeing how my character might connect with the main character Somali!
