What would summer be without visiting a Japanese summer festival? Fans of anime, manga, and Japanese culture are welcome to attend the upcoming SFU Summer Festival on 13 July 2019 in Vancouver, Canada. Our friends over there at SFU Anime are organizing these non-profit summer events annually and have prepared a great program for you!
The event is free to attend and is for fans of all ages. Celebrate this day with your friends, family, and fellow fans of Japanese pop culture. Enjoy stage events, which include singing, dancing, live music, and other performances prepared by local entertainment groups. Admire cosplays and participate in various stage games.
SFU Anime has created some matsuri-inspired festival games for you to try out, and by purchasing a CAD 2 game stamp, you have the opportunity to win great prices.
Many Japanese and Western food stalls will be on site, ready to serve typical Japanese festival food such as shaved ice, cotton candy, yakisoba, and more! The SFU campus does also offer other options like pizza, burgers, donairs, and poke. Around 100 vendors have applied and will be on site to share their prints, commissions, pins, and other handmade merchandise with you.
Don’t forget to join this awesome and family-friendly event on 13 July 2019 at Simon Fraser University Burnaby campus. It is the 9th time that the SFU Anime club and the Simon Fraser Student Society run this event.
MANGA.TOKYO and Otsukai are proud to sponsor this great event with some figures and we hope they find new owners!
