AnimeJapan 2016 was held on March 26th and 27th (Sat & Sun) at Tokyo Big Sight. On March 26th, there was a special talk event on a TV anime ‘Shwarzesmarken’ at the Avex Pictures booth. 5 voice actor/actresses went on the stage. They are as follows, Kenichi Suzumura (as Theodor Eberbach), Minami Tanaka (as Katia Waldheim), Nozomi Yamamoto (as Irisdina Bernhard), Kiyono Yasuno (as Gretel Jeckeln) and Chika Anzai (as Anett Hosenfeld).
The voice actor/actresses first introduced themselves as well as their characters. This anime ‘Schwarzesmarken’ is set in East Germany in the late 1980s. You wouldn’t be able to fully understand the anime unless you follow the complicated political background and the human relations. However, this talk event would open up the door to the new audience who hasn’t seen any episode.
The actor/actresses described their struggles with its big and difficult words in the anime during the recording. With smiles, they looked back what it was like.
Next, it was time for the ‘brief summaries of Schwarzesmarken’, which was also covered on Niconico video sharing/broadcasting in real time. The voice actor/actresses read out their lines on a brief cartoon with a deformed version of the characters, instead of going over the original complicated story. There are 4 cartoons in total; Chapter 1 (Episodes 1-3), Chapter 2 (Episodes 4 & 5), Chapter 3 (Episodes 6-8) and Chapter 4 (Episodes 9 & 10). Each cartoon covers the main plot of the episodes with cute anime characters. Suzumura enthusiastically played his role in certain scenes and gave his seal of approval to this easy-to-understand summary time. He and other actresses looked back at each chapter while leaving some funny comments in between remembering some unforgettable scenes.
Since its first volume was available on Blu-ray, they moved onto an ‘Unboxing Ceremony’. The actor/actresses opened the package of the Blu-ray and described the illustrations inside Digipak and some special offers with excitement. After that, just in time for the last episode broadcast late at night on the 27th, they did a presentation in a segment called ‘Illustrate & Present’. They had to draw some illustrations to go over the final story. Of course, they had to be careful not to reveal too much details of the last episode.
As the girls made a good effort drawing unique illustrations, Suzumura broke very important news.
At the end of the event, each voice actor/actresses expresses their passion for this anime. The event ended a great success.
