As the broadcasting date comes closer, we will get more information on the anime.
Konzen Douji / Genjo Sanzo (VA: Toshihiko Seki)
The nephew of Kanzeon Bosatsu. He has a high status among the heavenly people, but his work was mainly to sort documents, of which he got tired quite soon. He then meets Son Goku by chance. Kenren and Tenpo also influence his life and change it.
Son Goku (VA: Soichiro Hoshi)
Born from a rock egg on Kakayama mountain, Son Goku is an ungodly creature, neither a human nor a yokai. He was brought before Kanzeon Bosatsu because of the Konparume, which are said to be a good source for luck. He is an innocent boy with a lot of energy, getting excited over anything.
Kenren / Sha Gojyo (VA: Hiroaki Hirata)
General of Heaven’s Western Army. He is a brat that just was turned into a general, overflows with courage, looks over his friends and is liked by his subordinates. Since he doesn’t like hiding behind pretty words, he doesn’t always show the respect that is needed, even to his superior, the Dragon King.
Tenpo Gensui / Cho Hakkai (VA: Akira Ishida)
Heaven’s Field Marshal. Because he is an excellent soldier, the Dragon King puts him at the top, but in spite of his status, he works mainly as an adjutant. He is known to be kind of a nerd and always acts in his own time. He hates cleaning up, so his place is always a mess. He often brings back stuff from the lower world.
