The musical adaptation of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon was first shown outside Japan n 3 and 4 November 2018 at the Palais de congrès de Paris in France. Following its great success, the show has announced that it will also be coming to New York and Washington D.C. in March 2019. The musical is based on the popular manga by Naoko Takeuchi, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi from 1991.
The cast of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live has been invited to the opening ceremony of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C., USA and they gladly accepted. The National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the friendship between Japan and the US. In 1912, Tokyo donated roughly 3,000 cherry trees to Washington D.C. and the cherry blossom event celebrates them every year.
It is a musical with the characters of Sailor Moon, and compared to the musicals that have been performed before, it will challenge new techniques and use videos, dance, special effects and more, to deliver a breathtaking performance.
