Queen’s Blade‘s new OVA, Queen’s Blade Unlimited ‘Episode1: Elina no Tabidachi’ (lit. Beginning of Elina’s Journey), will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on 13 July.

Queen’s Blade will restart its journey with a new theme, ‘Coolness and sex appeal’. The story revolves around beautiful warrior Elina, who is fighting with spirit Airi over Michel, a boy who has lost his memory. The OVA will be sold on Blu-ray and DVD. Limited versions come with an 80-page original novel, including the story written by Eiji Okita, character illustrator Shinya Osaki’s two original illustrated jackets, and other benefits exclusive to each store. Queen’s Blade Complete Blu-ray Box will be on sale on 25 May ahead of the restart, including a collection of the previous TV anime and OVA. The Blu-ray box comes with 7 discs and 1 CD, which contain all 42 anime episodes and a total of 15 theme and character songs. In addition to visual books and booklets containing copyright illustrations, the first Blu-ray version of ‘Seijo no Hanmon ~Shinkou no Tobira wa, Mata Hiraku~’ is also part of this special box. The price is 45,360 yen.

Anime Queen’s Blade is based on a battle gamebook by Hobby Japan. The TV anime’s first season was released in 2009 and expanded into three other anime series and OVA series.
