The original TV anime Sakura Quest is the third in P.A Works’ so-called ‘working series’, following Hanasaku Iroha and SHIROBAKO.
During the Bubble Economy in Japan, there was a movement where towns would declare themselves as ‘micro-nations’. 5 girls are unexpectedly called upon to become monarchs of their town’s micro-nation in order to revive its economy. The original anime will depict the hard work of these 5 girls and is due to begin airing in April 2017.
The new key visual shows the palace of Manoyama (The Kingdom of Chupacabra) looming in the background and features the 5 main characters with Yoshino Kohara at the front and all the unique secondary characters in the back.
In keeping with the release of this new visual, the official website has also been renewed with a special visual for the theme song artists (K)NoW_NAME, and the illustrations of the supporting characters.
At AnimeJapan2017 (taking place March 25 – 26 at Tokyo Big Sight), there will be a special Sakura Quest talk event on the open stage! The 5 main cast members will also be appearing in a special Nico Live broadcast on Wednesday February 15! The programme will be called ‘Manoyama Tourist Association Strategy Announcement Part 1.’ That day they will announce more information about the recording the anime as well as the new PV!
