It has finally been confirmed that the second season of One Punch Man by ONE (story) and Yusuke Murata (illustrations) will start airing in April 2019. A teaser visual and announcement video were released along with this information.
On 12 August 2018, a One Punch Man event took place in Japan called ‘One Punch Man Maji Gakuen-sai’ where they announced the good news. Character designer Chikashi Kubota was in charge of the teaser visual, which shows Saitama and Genos in the front and in the back we face a character that will start appearing in Season 2 called Garo.
The announcement video is over 1 minute long and shows a row of battle scenes with Saitama first before blending into darkness and switching to screens full of text and voices read ing the text. It has also been announced that the opening theme is to be provided once again by JAM Project, who were also in charge of the opening for the first season.
On 21 December, a Blu-ray and DVD box set will be released, which includes all 12 episodes of Season 1, the 6 OVA episodes, as well as OVAs that were released together with the manga volumes. The box will include an English dub and the jacket will be an illustration by character designer Chikashi Kubota.
