The One Piece Cosplay King Grand Prix, based on the TV anime One Piece, has finished its first screening round and has announced a shortlist of 150 entries. Over 4,000 fans from all over the world participated in this cosplay event, but only the best 120 will make the final stage!
The One Piece Cosplay King Grand Prix is a cosplay contest featuring only cosplays of characters from One Piece.
One Piece fans from all over the world applied online via the application form at Cosplayers.Global from 7 January to 30 March 2019. More than 4,000 cosplay pictures were uploaded. They chose the best 150 photographs based on their quality (clothing, wig, make-up, impersonation, etc.) and the ‘Likes’ which each picture received.
The following step will be to select 20 contestants out of the 150 and determine the final list. These 20 contestants will build the 9 pirates of the Straw Hat Pirates group plus 11 other characters and are to meet at the World Cosplay Summit 2019 at Nagoya Oasis 21 on 3 August 2019 to compete in the final battle.
