It has been revealed that a new Kemono Friends anime titled Welcome to Japari Park will start streaming via TV Tokyo’s ‘Anitele’ service from 12 August 2018. The anime will be based on the Kemono Friends smartphone game, which ended service in December 2016.
Starting with said smartphone game, Kemono Friends has expanded into games, manga, a stage play, making it a true mixed-media project. The series takes place in a super-huge zoo called ‘Japari Park’ and follows the adventures of ‘Friends’- animals who have been transformed into people thanks to the mysterious material ‘sand star’.
The new anime Welcome to Japari Park will be streamed on the Japanese subscription anime service ‘Anitele’. The anime uses the world of the smartphone game and will show the Friends and park manager overcoming the dangers that the park faces before its grand opening. There will be some changes to the anime cast, with Yuka Ozaki (Serval in the 2017 anime) in charge of the narration. Aya Uchida will be continuing as Lucky Beast and Mirai, and Ai Nonaka will be continuing as Serval after playing the character in the smartphone app.
The first two episodes of Welcome to Japari Park will be streamed via AniTele at 4 pm JST on 12 August. Attendee at Comic Market 94, which takes places 10-12 August 2018, can visit the AniTele booth to receive a free DVD which contains the first episode.
