Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia has a Hollywood live-action movie adaptation in the plans as it has been discovered in an interview with Shueisha and Toho.
The production of the movie will be handled by Legendary Pictures, who announced in July that they would also handle the live-action movie adaptation of the Mobile Suit Gundam series. Alex Garcia (Godzilla) and Jay Ashenfelter (Pacific Rim) will also be involved in the project and the movie will be distributed through Toho in Japan.
My Hero Academia is set in a world where 80% of the population is born with a supernatural ability called ‘Quirk’. The manga is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and the series has been adapted into a TV anime, a movie, games. and more.
