There is not much time left until the anime movie Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil opens in Japanese cinemas on 8 February 2019. The anime movie has released its 3rd key visual and some character visuals in mid-December 2018 and this time we are getting a new trailer with Tanya saying that it’s time for war.
Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil is based on a series of light novels written by Carlo Zena and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. It tells the story of an elite yet stubborn Japanese salaryman who is reincarnated as a beautiful but cruel young girl in an alternate WWII. An anime adaptation aired during Winter 2017.
It’s the year 1926 according to the unified calendar. Major Tanya von Degurechaff has lead the Imperial Army 203rd Air Mage Battalion against the remnants of the Republican Army on the Southern continent. Upon their return, the Battalion is looking forward to a well-deserved holiday, but instead they are called to the headquarters. ‘There are signs of a large-scale mobilization of forces close to the border.’
Naturally the Imperial Army starts to secretly expand the battlefield before the new giant wakes up…
Meanwhile, the multinational volunteer army of the Allied Kingdom are setting foot inside the Commonwealth. The enemy of an enemy is a dear friend. Among the men guided by their patriotic feelings and fateful ups and downs was one girl, Warrant Officer Mary Sue. With a gun in her hand she is on the way to avenge her father, who was killed by the Empire.
