LIVE A.N.D is a series of concert events that each features a pair of themes: rock and pop; anime songs and game song; band and solo; singer and singer; singer and voice actor; performer and audience, and so on. The keyword in this series is ‘AND=&’.
It has been announced that the first concert of this series will be held on 14 May at Pasela Resorts Kannai Yokohama with Momoko Kanade, Yuiko Oohara, and YURiKA as special guests!
Momoko Kanade made her solo debut with the song ‘Akai Memories wo Anata ni (The Red Memories for You)’, which was the fourth ending theme of the anime Valvrave the Liberator (Kakumeiki Valvrave). She is also singing the theme song for the game app NOeSIS.
Yuiko Oohara is known for singing ‘Hoshi wo Tadoreba’ (Tracing the Stars), the ending theme for the anime Little Witch Academia’s first cour, and ‘Toumei na Tsubasa’ (The Invisible Wing) the ending theme for the anime’s second cour. She is a singer-songwriter who accompanies herself on the guitar and piano.
YURiKA is famous for winning in the Dai-1-kai Anison Nodo Jiman G (The 1st Anime Song Singing Contest G)’ which was hosted by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK). She is also known for singing Little Witch Academia’s first and second opening themes, ‘Shiny Ray’ and ‘MIND CONDUCTOR.’
Because of the concert’s unique concept of ‘AND (&),’ the fans are looking forward to seeing the three singers’ individual performances, but also their collaborations in the singing and talking segments. The music will be played by a live band.
The key point for the performers in LIVE A.N.D will be in HOW they will collaborate. Although the planning of the event is still in its conceptual phase, the three singers have given their comments and expressed their excitement.
‘The three of us all have different music styles and different ways of expression. I’m pretty sure that the fans at the event will enjoy our unique styles and show us many different reactions. The same band will be playing throughout the event with only the singers changing, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how the atmosphere is going to change with each of our singing. I personally want to request that the other two sing a song that I want them to sing.’
‘I’m sure there are many fans who will learn about me for the first time at this event, and the same goes for the other two. In order for the audience to enjoy the performances by the three of us, I think it is best to shuffle the singing order. I also think that it would be really fun if we get to show the fans a special performance that they would only able to see on that day.’
‘I think the most important thing for this LIVE A.N.D is that the three of us plan out the event together. At concert festivals, many singers and bands come up on the stage one after another, and I think those types of events are really fun. However, our event will only have three singers, and I think this enables the fans to understand more about each one of us. They can enjoy watching not only our separate performances but also our talking segments and singing collaborations. The three of us all believe that LIVE A.N.D is the place that makes these things possible.’
We are all looking forward to the collaboration among these three amazing singers! Since we are on the topic, here are the latest news of the three artists:
Yuiko Oohara will be a guest singer at Rioka Kanda’s concert event Kandari to (With Kandari) at Harajuku Strobe Café on 10 May. Her third single, ‘Toumei na Tsubasa’ (Invisible Wing), the ending theme of the anime Little Witch Academia’s second season, will be released on 24 May.
Also on 24 May, YURiKA will release her second single, ‘MIND CONDUCTOR’, which is the opening theme for Little Witch Academia’s second season.
Momoko Kanade will have her annual birthday concert at Benoa in Pasela Resorts Ginza. The event’s title will be ‘momoko’s birthday 2017: Omotenashi Daisakusen! Nonde Tabete Kanaderu Tune ni Yoishirete… Acoustic Night’ (The Great Hospitality Operation! Drink, Eat, and Get Absorbed with the Beautiful Music… Acoustic Night), and it will be her first time singing all of her songs in acoustic versions. The theme of the event is ‘hospitality’, and the food will be provided in a buffet style.
