The live action adaptation of Hikaru Nakamura’s Saint Young Men (Sei Onii-san) has released its key visual and a 360-degree video.
Yamada Takayuki is the executive producer of this series, and Yuichi Fukuda is directing and writing the script for the TV series. The key visual shows Jesus (played by Ken’ichi Matsuyama) and Buddha (played by Shota Sometani) during their breakfast.
Also, a VR video was released as well. We can see Jesus and Buddha in a scene that was entirely ad-libbed. Through the 360 degrees view, we can take a look at the roughly 6 tatami mat-sized (~9 square meters) room in which the two of them live together. The fifteenth volume of the manga will also come out on 22 June 2018 and include a special VR scoop as a present for those who buy it.
In Saint Young Men, we meet Jesus and Buddha who came together to the mundane world on vacation and live in an apartment in Tachikawa, Tokyo. The manga it is based on started serialization in 2007 in Kodansha’s Morning Two and in 2013 an anime movie came out with Mirai Moriyama as the voice of Jesus and Gen Hoshino as the voice of Buddha.
The TV series will start airing in October 2018.
