The official site of KyoAni (Kyoto Animation) uploaded a new spot for its upcoming light novel, Manzai Senka. The book will available on November 25.

The light novel is written by Aji Miyaki and illustrated by namo. It follows Hotaka, the son of a manzai comedian, who meets Ikoi, a mysterious figure wielding a magic wand. She invites him to be his manzai partner, but he rejects her because of his father’s failure.

In case you don’t know what manzai is: Manzai (漫才) is a Japanese traditional style of stand-up comedy that is especially popular in the Kansai region. It usually involves a team of two performers (manzaishi)—a straight man (tsukkomi) and a funny man (boke)— trading jokes that are usually mutual misunderstandings, double-talk, and puns.
