News had been quiet until today! It was announced that two compilation movies for the first season of the series will come to the big screen! They will be titled Made in Abyss Tabidachi no Yoake (Dawn of Departure) and Made in Abyss Hourou Suru Tasogare (Twilight of Wandering). We don’t know yet when they will be screening in Japanese cinemas, but we can expect more news to follow soon! We are also looking forward to hearing more about the sequel project.
Made in Abyss is based on a manga by Akihito Tsukushi and is currently being serialized in Takeshobo’s Web Comic Gamma. It tells the story of Riko and the robot boy Reg, who venture down into the Abyss, a massive hole that is home to mysterious creatures and highly valuable relics. Riko’s dream was always to become an adventurer like her mother, who died during one of her trips into the Abyss.
